Metastock is a business management game where you will have to assume the role of CEO of a COMPANY, buying several companies to be the best CEO of the year.
The game starts when you create your company. You can create as many companies as you want. Each business (node) pays a dividend (reward).
Nodes are a collection of data points that reward users for their generation and use. Each node generates a predetermined amount of its representing coin/token.
Each token generated can be used to create more nodes to increase daily rewards or sold on the market to be exchanged for an underlying liquidity paired coin.
Purchase cost and dividends
Each network has different purchase costs, maintenance costs, and profits.
For example:
Creating a company in BSC costs 0.3 BNB, you earn 1% daily and the maintenance cost is 10%.
If the company is created in another chain, the creation costs, profits, and maintenance costs will be different.

On 17th July 2022, Metastocks integrated Chainlink Price Feeds, VRF and Keepers on Avalanche, BNB Chain, Fantom, and Polygon mainnets. By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, we’re able to access three critical services necessary to build out our novel Web3 game:
- Chainlink Price Feeds — high-quality, decentralized price data
- Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) — verifiably random number generator
- Chainlink Keepers — hyper-reliable smart contract automation

Below, we break down how each Chainlink service is implemented to help underpin the Metastocks game.
Using Chainlink Price Feeds to Help Calculate the Value of Assets and Companies
In order to calculate the value of the various digital assets, as well as the players’ companies as a whole, we needed access to high-quality price data feeds that would enable players to understand the exogenous value of their assets.
Chainlink Price Feeds are the industry-standard solution for decentralized price data. The service features multiple layers of aggregation across premium data providers and data aggregators to provide a volume-weighted market asset price that is resistant to manipulation and encompassing of a wide range of exchanges. Currently Chainlink Price Feeds help secure tens of billions of dollars for leading DeFi protocols across the Web3 ecosystem.
By integrating the best price data solution on the market, our players can have high assurances that all token calculations for any digital assets are underpinned by highly accurate data.
Underpinning in-game events with Chainlink VRF
When playing Metastocks, CEOs build companies that have different attributes and are based in various geographical locations. The game uses random numbers to create an unpredictable element to both in-game events and the initial generation of companies and geographical locations.
The main problem that arose when implementing randomness is that blockchains don’t have a native source of secure randomness. The simplest solution — using blockhashes to generate a random number — has historically been subject to exploit by validators and miners securing the underlying blockchain network.
As a verifiably random number generator, Chainlink VRF solves the blockchain randomness problem by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The Metastocks smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This helps provide users with automated and publicly verifiable proof directly on-chain that each in-game function using Chainlink VRF for randomness is provably fair and cannot be tampered with or predicted by the oracle, outside entities, or the Metastocks team.
Using Chainlink VRF provides core benefits to both our team and to our players. For our team, we had a seamless and proven method of implementing random numbers into Metastocks. For our players, Chainlink VRF helps ensure that the random number generator’s integrity — and thus the fairness of in-game outcomes — are independently verifiable.
Automating critical game functions with Chainlink Keepers
Another inherent limitation of blockchains is that they don’t have a built-in way to automate functions. In the context of Web3 games, this means that smart contract functions must either be executed manually or by centralized servers.
This inhibits the Metastocks player experience in critical ways. For example, without an automated smart contract, players must click to claim their rewards over time — a feature that diminishes the fun of playing Metastocks.
To combat this, we integrated Chainlink Keepers — a decentralized, cost-efficient, and highly secure smart contract automation service. Powered by the same time-tested node operators that help secure billions in value for Chainlink Price Feeds, Chainlink Keepers help automate both the calculation and delivery of CEO rewards, enabling players to focus on playing the game.
